She reflects on sleep deprivation and how getting enough sleep is one of the best business decisions you can make. I venture to say, it is one of the best decisions you can make for your nursing practice and patient care, as well.

  1. So true! I noticed a huge difference in how I think at work when I started getting more sleep. This new year’s, I resolved to go to bed early, NOT watch TV but maybe read a chapter in a good book, and get a good night’s sleep. At first I thought my better thought processes were due to more reading, but let’s be honest, it’s because I now go to sleep an hour earlier than I used to. This is probably the one new year’s resolution I’ve actually stuck to (at least most nights) because it has such an impact on my productivity the next day.
