I have never had to know about all the Medicare and Medicaid ins and outs. Until recently. Oh. My. It is seriously like learning another language. At least I feel that way with all the rules and exceptions.
Needless to say my education will continue for a while as I try to learn and retain all the idiosyncrasies of the federal programs. Medicare Made Clear is one of the most helpful websites I’ve found. It’s complete with entertaining, bit-sized informational videos like the one below.
I know it will take time. I need to be patient with myself. If you’re one of the amazing-know-it-all-nurses-of-CMS, how did you learn it, and how do you stay abreast of all the changes?

Oh my. I am sure that’s an even more different world! Best wishes with your new endeavor. We’ll both grasp the idiosyncrasies of CMS with time.
